My Approach
R. Bruce Winstone is a Registered Massage Therapist and bodywork practitioner on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. His practice draws on three complementary disciplines — Registered Massage Therapy, Rolfing® Structural Integration, and the Alexander Technique — so treatment can be matched to the problem rather than the other way around.
He came to bodywork from an unusually analytical background: a BSc in physics and years teaching anatomy, yoga, and mathematics (including linear algebra and calculus at the University of Manitoba). That eye for structure shows up in how he works with the body.
How the approaches fit together
Massage Therapy treats tissue; Rolfing reorganizes structure in relation to gravity; the Alexander Technique changes the habits that created the strain in the first place. Many clients use one; some move between them as their needs change.
